Charleston County School District Shared Future Board Presentation
January 28 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Since early fall 2018, a group of community representatives, including the Chair of the Charleston Branch Education Committee, Dr. Stephen Cofer-Shabica, has been meeting to consider a set of scenarios regarding the future of education in the Charleston County School District (CCSD) as part of a special initiative called Charleston Shared Future. The group is now ready to present the scenarios to the CCSD Board of Trustees. This will be done at a special meeting to be held tonight, Monday, January 28, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Burke High School, located at 244 President Street on the Peninsula.
At tonight’s meeting, members of the Shared Future Scenario team will present a total of four scenarios about the look of public education in Charleston in the year 2035. We are urging you to join us in watching this project as it moves forward. Your attention and participation in this effort as it takes shape is crucial, and we’d like to urge you to attend tonight’s meeting to hear more about the scenarios the Charleston Shared Future Scenario team is considering.
