CCSD Shared Future Cafe Session: West Ashley
January 29 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Since early fall 2018, a group of community representatives, including the Chair of the Charleston Branch Education Committee, Dr. Stephen Cofer-Shabica, has been meeting to consider a set of scenarios regarding the future of education in the Charleston County School District (CCSD) as part of a special initiative called Charleston Shared Future. The group is now ready to present the scenarios to the CCSD Board of Trustees. This will be done at a special meeting to be held Monday, January 28, 2019 at Burke High School, located at 244 President Street on the Peninsula.
At that meeting, members of the Shared Future Scenario team will present a total of four scenarios about the look of public education in Charleston in the year 2035. We are urging you to join us in watching this project as it moves forward.
In addition to hearing more about the four scenarios Monday night, each community within the District will have an opportunity to learn more about the scenarios and to share your opinions about them tonight from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at what’s being called Shared Future cafe sessions.
Tonight’s Shared Future cafe sessions are free and open to the public, but registration is requested as space is limited. You may register to attend one of the sessions here.
